• The statistics that may be displayed above are accumulated from the most recent system re-start. At one point, polycosmic.net had been up for 44 days and had accumulated 254 message attempts, around 5 per day.
• For Message Compose Time, the dominant bin is under 5 seconds, with a handful under 20 seconds. Not much evidence of human contemplation.
• For Message Lengths, there are a range of values, most commonly from 480 to 960 characters. A fair number are under 30 and under 60, not much more than a single phrase and a link. The cynical among us are not expecting that clicking on the link will lead to an improvement in our life.
• At one point, with around 400 messages, more than 10% had a length under 1, that is -- a zero-length message. Unclear what that is all about, perhaps just a code bug in one of the robots.
• For Message Lengths, there could be attempts at longer messages which will be rejected with an HTTP error code of 4xx-something because a fixed-size limit is exceeded, and would not appear in these statistics.
• Send or ignore -- Those robots that spray something, almost anything, in to every field manage to get a few messages through. Those messages show no evidence of anyone actually looking at the website. Expect that any human that has ever dealt with CAPTCHAs and actually spent more than 20 seconds composing a message, when presented with response -- "Answer to Robot question must be unique", would select or create an answer and re-submit.
